A warm welcome to Liah Berlioux, a 24 year old life coach and passionate dancer based in Paris. Liah chose to train as a coach not only because she loves helping people, but also because she loves doing so in a concrete, measurable way. She wanted to see her clients to make a real difference in their lives after working with her, and that’s also part of why she joined Millennial Community.
Welcome to Millennial Of The Week! This is an interview series conducted by Millennial Community – we are a group of like-minded young people who support each other, talk about life as a millennial, work on projects & ideas that matter and challenge the status quo of the world we live in. Let’s dive right in!
Are you a member of any online communities? If so, what made you join?
I am apart of the Millennial Community of course! I joined because Ramona’s message and vibe really spoke to me and I thought the idea of connecting with other passionate young entrepreneurs was genius.
What are – in your opinion – the most important skills a millennial needs to cultivate, and why?
Maybe these aren’t skills as much as mindsets to cultivate but they’re just as important in my opinion:
1. Be yourself-shine in your light, figure out what makes you ‘YOU’ and be totally unapologetic about it. Ex: I used to downplay my love for helping people, but I ended up making it my career.
2. Look at your youth as a huge advantage. You inspire all ages when you go out there and do what you LOVE.
3. Don’t undervalue your goals and dreams. Millennials have badass standards like getting paid their worth without the overworked hours, they have a love of travelling and want to do so anytime they want, they want a life where they can spend time with their kids freely (if and when they’ll have kids haha), those are all beautiful goals and dreams. If we keep being unafraid to have those goals, they might become the new acceptable way of life for generations to come (Can you hear me dreaming a little? :D)
Simply put, you’re creating a beautiful future for the next generations to come.
How are you practicing those skills in your own life?
I have deeply integrated all 3 things I mentioned above in my heart. It’s given me all the confidence I needed to go out there and live my life on my terms.
What is your personal definition of success?
Success to me is when you’re fulfilled by your work, your relationships, your hobbies, and your learning experiences. You’re taking each moment in your life with gratitude knowing there’s a reason why you’re going through the thing you’re going through. You appreciate the people around you, and you feel you’re growing and learning over time. That’s success to me.
What are YOU seeking help in at the moment?
I am seeking help in growing my blog at the moment. It’s up and running but there’s quite a bit that could be better. I’ve been focused on prospecting and relationship building for my business but blogging is still on the back of my mind. I know it will be an essential piece to my business.
What excites you about being a millennial?
It excites me to be apart of a community that is full of innovative ideas, with a deep need for fulfilment and a love for doing meaningful work.
