Welcome to Millennial Of The Week! This is an interview series conducted by Millennial Community – we are a group of like-minded young people who talk about life as a millennial, create projects & ideas that matter and challenge the status quo of the world we live in.
This week we are talking to Emma Harper and taking a deep dive into her unconventional and interesting story of living life as an open question. Emma is actively deconstructing her sense of identity and has surrendered her life in devotion and service to Universal Intelligence/The Divine/God. Her commitment is to a thriving and harmonious world and she is currently guided to and enjoying retraining as a Psychosexual Somatic Therapist, learning about life-force energy, inter and intra personal dynamics, embodiment, love, sexuality, intimacy, connection relationships and healing. Emma is also exploring concepts of communication, money consciousness, human potential, and a wealth of other spiritual inquiries. Wow, lots of deep stuff – let’s get started with the interview!
Are you a member of any online communities? If so, what made you join?
For me community only meaningfully exists where there is a shared sense of purpose. As such, my online community memberships are fluid, reflecting the groups of people with which I share a passion for in ways of being or learning in the present time. For me currently this includes workshop initiated communities focussed around Relationships on the Spiritual Path, Psychosexual Somatic Therapists in Training, and a number around being true to yourSelf and following spiritual guidance.
What are – in your opinion – the most important skills a millennial needs to cultivate, and why
It’s really simple. To be your highest contribution you need to know yourself intimately. This can require deep personal inquiry. Everything you’ll ever need is already within you. Get out of your head, overcome the deep programming of your family and the dominant culture and discover what really lies beneath. Find YOUR truth and grace the world with the gift of who you really are. A great place to start is silence, stillness, meditation and lots of self-care. Let go of everything you think you need to do, find community and create yourself loving space for deep listening.
How are you practicing those skills in your own life?
It’s all I do all day every day. I don’t plan ahead. I listen to my intuition and to the needs of my body. I make decisions from the heart and a felt sense of truth (and life is amazing)!!
What is your personal definition of success?
Being at my best each day so i remain an open channel for pure love to flow through me and out into the world in whatever form it wishes to present itself.
What are YOU seeking help in at the moment?
Setting boundaries so I can create a safe container to trust myself and deepen my intimacy with others, especially men. Releasing trapped emotion and trauma held in my body and psyche. Learning to slow my drive and create spaciousness for expansion in my life.
What excites you about being a millennial?
The world is finally waking up! There is so much incredible change happening so fast and we get to be at the forefront of it, walking hand in hand to create the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible (to quote Charles Eisenstein)! How could anything be more exciting!!!
